Pierpont Bay is a residential neighborhood adjacent to The Ventura Keys, bordering one mile of a beautiful Pacific Ocean beach between the Ventura Harbor on the south and San Buena Ventura Beach on the north. Development of this beach land began with the subdivision in 1925. The original plan included finger like canals beginning at the ocean and extending approximately 1000 plus feet inland with houses and boat docks bordering the canals. The plan was modified in favor of a more conventional plan with lanes and lighted walkways from Pierpont Boulevard to the ocean.
In the early years construction began with several custom homes and beach cottages and a fishing pier at the end of Seaward Avenue which was destroyed in a 1937 storm. Between the years 1950 and 1955 Pierpont Beach experienced a mini housing boom when many two and three bedroom, one bath homes were built; many of which still stand. Today many of those are rental dwellings or weekend cottages. The total today is approximately 720 single family residences and 150 multiple dwelling units and 6 or 7 vacant lots.
Pierpont Beach has been transformed by successive California real estate booms into a fashionable but eclectic mix of newer large homes and older modest beach cottages with Seaward Avenue providing shops and restaurants for locals and visitors. Young families are drawn to the area because of the highly rated Pierpont Elementary School. Pierpont Beach popularity continues to increase as visitors discover the proximity of the beach and Ventura Harbor to the vibrant downtown Ventura. Pierpont Bay Realty welcomes you to Ventura.
