A year of much uncertainty is ending and a New Year with hope of more certainty is beginning. We, however do have defined certainty about our objectives for your properties and the service we provide.

Because your properties are long term investments with varying purposes of providing: current or future retirement income, a future retirement residence, a step to a larger investment or a future exchange property; each has required you to have a different plan to fit within your overall financial plan. We want to ensure that we are offering, providing or assisting you with the services that fit your plan.
For some clients we arrange for gardening, painting, carpet cleaning, pest control, updating appliances, fixtures, cabinets, and repair of termite damage. These and other services like electrical and plumbing are performed by outside professionals. Bookkeeping which can include utility and mortgage paying are done with direct employment. In addition a portion of our business is the listing and selling of real estate and tax deferred exchanges. We also offer assistance in selecting a qualified intermediary, appraiser, surveyor and mortgage provider. We think our experience helps us anticipate the little things that make a difference in the service we provide.
This year when changes in personnel were made we were very fortunate to gain in depth of experience and the variety of experiences that can greatly contribute to the service we provide and assist Laural and I in property management. Becky Bartles recently relocated from Vancouver, Washington where she managed a branch of Vancouver’s largest multiple listing service. As assistant to the president of Alaska Pacific Bank, her responsibilities included a portion of property management of the bank owned properties after foreclosure. Becky also assisted in rewriting the real estate construction lien law which effectively restricted the recourse of the providers of construction materials to collect payment when a project failed. And oh yes, Becky is tech savvy also.
This year has been better than last and we hope that is also true for you. In the last five months our property management business ( long term rentals and vacation rentals ) has improved approximately ten percent. Residential sales have improved also. For the future I think Benjamin Franklin was correct when he said “Well Done Is Better Than Well Said.”
