Shopping and restaurant areas include historic Main Street, the Ventura Pier, Ventura Marina, Buena Ventura Mall and the Victoria corridor. The west county is well served with Ventura County Medical Center and Ventura County Hospital centrally located in Ventura and St John's Hospital is in neighboring Oxnard. Students continuing their education after one of three Ventura high schools can remain local with choices that include Ventura Junior College, Oxnard Junior College, UC Channel Island in neighboring Camarillo or UC Santa Barbara.
